5 items you should always have in your closet

All too often when we talk to customers at our store in Delray Beach, Florida, we find that they’re looking for a last-minute outfit for an important event. Shopping is always fun, but when you’re running short on time and need something new to wear, it can really take the excitement out of it! If you want to avoid these moments, we recommend you fill your wardrobe with five staple garments and then gradually build up a collection of extras and accessories – you’ll never be without an outfit at short notice again.

A little black dress

Every woman needs a little black dress! A sleek and simple LBD can be dressed up with sparkly jewelry and towering heels for formal occasions, or dressed down with cute sandals or pumps for more casual occasions.

A fitted shirt

You can team a fitted shirt with a pencil skirt for work, with smart pants for a smart-casual dinner, or with jeans for dress-down days. If you opt for white, you can rest assured that you can wear it with anything, but if you’d prefer a pop of color, go for a pastel shade to ensure it’s still suitable for a range of occasions.

Comfortable heels

We all have a couple of pairs of pumps or boots that we find ourselves wearing day in, day out, but there are times when a pair of heels are needed to dress up an outfit. Make sure they’re reasonably comfortable and have a simple design so that you can wear them anytime and anywhere, and choose a color that works with everything. Black heeled court shoes are a great choice.

A blazer

A stylish tailored blazer can smarten up almost any outfit with minimal effort. Once again, black goes with everything, but a dark gray or navy blazer could also make for an adaptable item that will work with both jeans and dresses.

Smart jeans

A high quality pair of jeans that fit you perfectly can be dressed up and down really easily; you’ll find yourself wearing them time and time again with different shirts, shoes and accessories. Dark or black denims tend to look smarter than light blue jeans and can therefore be more flexible.
